Karl Kömmerling founds Karl Kömmerling OHG, a trading company that supplies adhesives to the rapidly expanding footwear industry (wheat gluten, lasting glue, celluloid adhesive, etc). Just a few years later, KÖMMERLING begins to independently develop and produce adhesives. |

KÖMMERLING produces the world’s first contact adhesive based on synthetic rubber. This groundbreaking development revolutionised shoe production in Europe. |

The GEBRÜDER KÖMMERLING GMBH (Kömmerling Brothers) plastic factory is established. Plastics are of increasing importance, not only in the footwear industry. |

With the founding of the technical adhesives area and the development of the KÖRAPOX product range, KÖMMERLING lays the foundations for modern constructive adhesives. |

The company uses its expertise in adhesives to develop the sealants product range. |

The KÖRATAC HF / DF product range is launched, thus laying the foundations for industrial solvent bonding in Europe. |

KÖMMERLING is the first company to develop a primerless polysulphidebased sealant system (GD 116) for sealing the edges of insulating glass. |

KÖMMERLING continues to produce new and exciting developments. The company decides to use standard SAP software to map its business processes. |

The company launches a tailor-made range of flexible adhesives on the Base
of Polyurethane (KÖRAPUR) and silane-terminated polymers (KÖRAPOP). |

KÖMMERLING CHEMISCHE FABRIK GMBH becomes a part of ADCO Global Inc. based in Chicago, IL. ADCO now has seven sites worldwide in the USA, Europe and Asia, with a total of more than 700 employees. |

KÖMMERLING acquires the insulating glass products area from Chemetall along with the production location in Langelsheim, thereby becoming the world market leader in polysulphide sealants. |

The entire management system at KÖMMERLING is certified in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001:2000 (quality management), DIN EN ISO 14001:2004 (environmental management) and OHSAS 18001 (occupational health and safety management). |
