The cast resin method is one of the most advanced means of producing multilayer glass. The usage of cast resin technology is characterised in particular by the following advantages:
- Low investment and operating costs in comparison with other production methods
- Optimum soundproofing and safety of cast resin components
- Highly flexible application, in particular when used with highly ornamental or shaped sheets of glass
KÖMMERLING offers a wide range of single and multi-component cast resins under the Ködiguard and Ködiphone brands. The different types of cast resin on offer can be perfectly matched to the field of production and application concerned.
Difference in production of single and multi-component cast resin
KÖMMERLING offers both single and multi-component (1-c and M-c) cast resin to suit various production technologies.
Single-component cast resin is delivered ready to use. 1-c Ködiguard and 1c Ködiphone are processed using volumetric metering equipment. A source of constant UV rays and a UV-permeable superstructure is required in order to cure the cast resin. The lighting may be stationary, reversing or constant.
In contrast to singlecomponent products, multi-component Ködiguard and Ködiphone cast resins require a mixing facility. Metering takes place in the same way as for the single-component product. Flat storage systems are necessary in order to cure the resin.
The choice of which production method is most suitable depends on individual customer requirements. The preparation of 1-c cast resin generally offers advantages in serial production, whereas the preparation of m-c cast resin is more suitable for use in mixed production.
As nonUVpermeable superstructures may only be manufactured using m-c cast resin, the product to be manufactured is the decisive factor in selecting the production method.
